Multiple award-winning Nigerian artiste, Chinedu Okoli, also known as Flavour Nabania, is the inspiration behind a romantic novel, titled, Abiku: A Battle of the Gods, by a London-based Nigerian writer, Elizabeth Salau, who is Nabania’s fan.

According to publishers, Segilola Publishing, Flavour is the brain behind the lead character, Lord Akin, The God of Thunder. The novel is set to be launched in London, with U.K.-based Nigerian Comedian Klinton Cod, as host.

The publishing outfit said, “The novel touches on several concepts. First, it talks of a very frightening, but commonplace theme in Nigeria and possibly, Africa - that is, having a spiritual husband. Then it correlates with a light-skinned, beauty being called Abiku, an evil spirit.”

On why the Nigerian music star played a prominent role in the novel, the publishers explained that as a huge fan of the musician, “apparently, when Salau, the author was writing the features of Lord Akin, Flavour’s image kept flashing through her mind’s eyes.”
